About
I am a plant community/ecosystem ecologist. My focus is on belowground species interactions and how they scale up to affect ecosystem-scale processes. As a native Texan, most of my research centers around how these processes play out in Texas grasslands to predict how these ecosystems will change as climate change persists.

As I settle into my new position here at CSU, I am excited to expand my research system to broader grassland types!

I love to talk about all things plants, ecology, and soil related! Please feel free to reach out to chat more about science. My email: sarah.ortiz@colostate.edu
